About the position

The Medical Assistant at ClareMedica Health Partners LLC plays a crucial role in providing ancillary clinical support to ensure effective patient care. This position involves collaboration with healthcare providers, maintaining compliance with legal regulations, and delivering compassionate care to patients, particularly seniors. The Medical Assistant is responsible for various clinical tasks, patient advocacy, and maintaining a safe and clean clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and record patient vital signs and medical history.
  • Assist providers with patient examinations and therapeutic measures.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests.
  • Monitor and record physiological measurements.
  • Provide treatment to patients per protocols.
  • Observe patients and report any changes in conditions to the healthcare team.
  • Request and coordinate radiographic and/or laboratory studies as directed.
  • Order, prepare, and generate appropriate medical records.
  • Screen and coordinate telephone calls from patients and healthcare providers.
  • Provide health coaching to a defined group of patients.
  • Maintain supplies, equipment, and sterilize instruments according to safety standards.
  • Process patient phone messages and relay pertinent information to the physician.
  • Handle fax-related tasks and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) required.
  • Graduate of an approved training class for Medical Assistants preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Medical Assistant or similar role, or documented clinical rotation training.
  • Current CPR for Health Care workers or BCLS certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance with confidentiality standards.
  • Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with patients and staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and typing at least 40 WPM.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual is a plus.

  • Experience with EMR systems preferred.

  • HIPAA and AHCA experience preferred.
