About the position
The Medical Assistant at Rio Grande Pain Team is responsible for supporting healthcare providers by performing various clinical and administrative tasks. This role is essential in ensuring smooth patient flow and assisting with patient care in a busy medical environment. The position requires a valid Certified Medical Assistant certification and offers on-the-job training for candidates with no prior experience.
Responsibilities
- Vitalize and triage patients.
- Escort patients to and from exam rooms, record patient data.
- Prepare and stock treatment rooms.
- Assist physician and providers with exams/procedures as requested.
- Verify presence of consent prior to treatment or procedures.
- Request/obtain new patient records and previous test results (i.e.: x-rays, scans, etc.).
- Perform other administrative duties (i.e.: typing, filing, faxing, reception, etc.) as requested by supervisor or physician.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
- Certification for Certified Medical Assistant must be current.
- Bilingual.
Nice-to-haves
- EMR experience is preferred.
