Responsibilities

  • Check and confirm patient insurance benefits and coverage.
  • Apply for necessary authorizations for procedures and services.
  • Investigate and prepare appeals for denied claims.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of patient interactions, benefit inquiries, authorizations, and appeals.
  • Work closely with healthcare providers, billing departments, and insurance representatives.
  • Educate patients on their benefits, coverage options, and the authorization process.
  • Monitor the status of authorizations and claims, following up as needed.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to patient benefits, authorizations, and claims.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or patient coordination, with a focus on authorizations and claims appeals.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, insurance processes, and healthcare regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
