About the position

The Medical Benefits Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating patients' insurance benefits and eligibility, ensuring timely access to healthcare services. This remote position requires effective communication with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to facilitate medical care and verify insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to facilitate access to medical care.
• Verify and document patients' medical insurance coverage and benefit eligibility prior to medical services.
• Communicate with insurance companies to obtain medical benefit authorization and pre-authorizations.
• Manage pre-authorizations, referrals, and documentation of services.

Requirements

• One year of healthcare call center experience.
• Experience in benefit verification and prior authorization.
• Familiarity with medical collections.
• Knowledge of medical benefits, medical insurance, and prescriptions.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations.
• Knowledge of co-pay, co-insurance, and deductible processes.
• Experience with patient assistance programs (PAP).
• Verifiable high school diploma or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves
