About the position

The Medical Biller for Accounts Receivable at Hycare Inc. is responsible for managing the billing processes within a skilled nursing facility. This role involves preparing claim data for Medicare and Medical, processing payment denials, and ensuring timely billing and follow-up on outstanding balances. The position requires strong communication skills and proficiency in billing software, with a focus on providing excellent customer service to patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Prepares claim data for transmission to Medicare and Medical.
• Review and process payment denials.
• Organizes billing and re-billing materials.
• Produces reports and aging from billing system to provide feedback to management.
• Review and work aging balances until payment is received.
• Works with patients and patient families on the medical application process.
• Balances and controls resident Trust accounts.
• Requests and tracks custodial HMO authorizations.
• Completes and processes requests for Medical TARS.
• Bills out HMO and Medicare A co-insurance.
• Handles all Business Office functions and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience in Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) billing is preferred.
• Full knowledge of how to bill Medicare, Medical/Medicaid, Hospice, co-insurance, and Private pay.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in the billing process and timeliness of billing.
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of the admissions process and insurance verification process.
• Knowledge of Trust account processes.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Microsoft Office (1 year preferred).
• Administrative experience (1 year required).
