About the position

The Medical Biller and Claims Specialist at Dermaclinique is responsible for managing patient billing, processing insurance claims, and handling collections. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for dermatology services, requiring expertise in medical billing and coding, particularly in a dermatology setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, submit, and track insurance claims and patient invoices for dermatology services.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits to ensure proper billing.
• Resolve claim denials, rejections, and appeals by working with insurance providers and patients.
• Review and reconcile patient accounts, identify outstanding balances, and follow up on collections.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to clarify billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Provide exemplary customer service to patients regarding billing inquiries and payment plans.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in a dermatology or clinical setting.
• Proficiency in EMR's.
• Experience with Mod Med EMA preferred.
• Strong understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding, with certification preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
