About the position
The Medical Biller and Coder position involves managing the billing and coding processes for a medical office that provides Spravato treatments and medication management. The role requires proficiency in insurance eligibility verification, claim submission, and adjustments based on insurance regulations. The position offers both part-time and full-time opportunities with a focus on accuracy and compliance in medical billing practices.
Responsibilities
- Run insurance eligibility prior to patients being seen and add copay.
- Document the deductible remaining amount on the schedule for that week.
- Review insurance claims weekly, add appropriate modifiers, and make adjustments to claims based on the patients' insurance company regulations.
- Send out claims electronically and mail those that do not allow for electronic submission.
- Review clearing house report for any rejections or denials and make appropriate corrections to the claim and resubmit to the insurance company.
- Handle Spravato Billing (training available).
Requirements
- 1 year of experience in CPT Coding (Required)
- 1 year of experience in Medical Billing (Required)
- 1 year of experience in ICD-10 (Required)
- Valid Medical Billing Certification (Preferred)
- Experience with Tebra Billing software (Preferred)
- Ability to relocate to Flint, MI 48532 before starting work (Required)
