About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accuracy in coding, and facilitating the collection of payments. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to work effectively within a medical office environment.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and patients in a timely manner.
• Review patient records for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all necessary information is included for billing purposes.
• Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10 to accurately code diagnoses and procedures.
• Manage accounts receivable, including following up on unpaid claims and conducting medical collections as necessary.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CPT systems and relevant regulations affecting medical billing practices.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies in billing or coding issues.
• Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding medical billing practices.
• Keep detailed records of all billing activities and communications with patients and insurance companies.

Requirements

• Proficiency in medical coding, particularly with ICD-10 and ICD-9 systems.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and medical office operations.
• Experience with medical collections processes and best practices.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for reviewing medical records.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
