About the position

The Medical Biller position is a full-time role within the Revenue Cycle Management team, responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining medical records. This role is essential for facilitating the revenue cycle and requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review patient records and ensure all necessary documentation is complete for billing.
• Assign appropriate codes using ICD-10 and ICD-9 for diagnoses and procedures.
• Process claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding claims.
• Manage accounts receivable by tracking payments and conducting medical collections as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies in billing or coding.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.

Requirements

• Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) classifications.
• Experience with medical coding systems, particularly ICD-10 and ICD-9.
• Familiarity with medical office operations and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare professionals.
• Knowledge of medical billing processes, including collections and appeals.
