The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process for medical services, ensuring accuracy in coding and compliance with regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate medical records efficiently. The Medical Biller will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our practice by ensuring timely and accurate billing.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients.
• Review patient records to ensure all services rendered are accurately coded.
• Utilize coding systems such as ICD-9 and ICD-10 for proper documentation.
• Follow up on unpaid claims.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Communicate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies regarding billing inquiries.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
• Assist in resolving discrepancies related to billing or coding issues.

Requirements

• Proven experience in medical billing or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical collections processes and practices.
• Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of various coding systems including ICD-9 and ICD-10.
• Experience working in a medical office setting.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
