About the position

The Medical Billing Manager at Synergy Wound Technology is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the billing operations within the organization. This role is crucial for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in billing processes, particularly in the context of wound care. The manager will lead a team, manage billing operations, and ensure compliance with industry standards while utilizing advanced billing software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the medical billing team to ensure accuracy and efficiency in billing processes.
  • Manage billing operations with a strong focus on wound care billing to meet compliance and accuracy standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate claims submission and resolve any claim rejections or denials.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and work with the billing team to reduce outstanding balances.
  • Provide training and support to billing team members on best practices and process improvements.
  • Use Cerner and other billing software to track and manage patient accounts, generate reports, and analyze billing trends.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical and administrative teams to resolve billing issues and optimize workflow.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards and changes in billing regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Answer ad-hoc billing questions that arise from Providers.
  • Submit, ensure quality standards and supervise insurance verifications and authorizations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of medical billing experience, with a strong understanding of billing processes and industry standards.
  • Experience with wound care billing is required.
  • Proficiency with Cerner billing software is required.
  • Experience with CollaborateMD is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in team supervision and management.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to work collaboratively across departments.
