About the position
The Medical Biller position involves managing various tasks related to medical billing, requiring strong data analysis skills and sound judgment. The role focuses on ensuring accurate billing processes, handling insurance claims, and maintaining effective communication with clients and insurance agents.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies and hospice billing forms.
- Ensure the patient's medical information is accurate and up to date with current insurance eligibility.
- Sign, attach requested information, and mail paper claims when needed.
- Post EOB's/ERA's insurance payments.
- Follow up on missed payments and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Examine patient bills for accuracy and request any missing information.
- Assist patients and develop patient payment plans or resolve billing questions in person or over the phone.
- Process credit card payments from insurance companies and patients.
- Appeal denied claims with insurances.
- Work rejected claims with clearinghouse and set to resubmit.
- Contribute positively as part of a team and help with various tasks as required by management.
Requirements
- 1 year of experience in medical billing is required.
- In-depth knowledge of billing software and medical insurance policies is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
