About the position

The Medical Claim Resolution Specialist at Digitech is responsible for managing and resolving claims submitted to commercial insurance carriers. This remote position requires strong attention to detail, effective multi-tasking abilities, and a commitment to following through on tasks. The specialist will work closely with insurance companies to ensure compliance with regulations and timely processing of claims, ultimately impacting the revenue lifecycle for EMS services.

Responsibilities

  • Work claims that are pending, denied, or incorrectly paid by insurance carriers.
  • Review claims on hold to identify and address issues causing delays.
  • Handle denials by identifying reasons for denial and following up accordingly.
  • Provide additional information to insurance companies to facilitate correct processing of claims or to send appeals.
  • Manage correspondence via mail, email, and process necessary refunds.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Strong computer skills with a basic understanding of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of work while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Experience in a monitored call environment with performance metrics is helpful.
  • Ability to manage situations calmly and effectively via telephone while promoting a positive company image.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in medical billing or claims processing is preferred.
  • Familiarity with insurance regulations and compliance standards.
