About the position
The Medical Claims Processor is responsible for reviewing and processing healthcare claims submitted by providers to ensure accurate reimbursement. This role requires attention to detail and knowledge of medical terminology, as well as the ability to verify patient eligibility and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The position is full-time and allows for remote work, provided candidates reside in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient eligibility and review medical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Review claims for accuracy and completeness.
- Confirm patient eligibility and medical benefits prior to processing claims.
- Accurately input medical claim information into the billing system.
Requirements
- One year of healthcare call center experience.
- Experience with benefit verification and prior authorization.
- Familiarity with medical collections and medical benefits.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to understand co-pay, co-insurance, and deductible processes.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with ICD-10 coding.
- Familiarity with patient assistance programs (PAP).
