About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely collections. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial health of our medical practice while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients.
• Review and verify patient information, including medical records and insurance coverage.
• Utilize medical coding systems, including ICD-10 and ICD-9, to ensure accurate billing.
• Manage accounts receivable by following up on outstanding claims and payments.
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim denials or discrepancies.
• Maintain organized records of all billing transactions and correspondence.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
• Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve billing issues and improve processes.

Requirements

• Proven experience in medical billing or a related role within a medical office setting.
• Experience in Interventional Radiology preferred.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9).
• Familiarity with medical records management and collection processes.
• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives.
