About the position

The Inpatient Facility Medical Coder position at Enterprise Solution Inc. is a contract role focused on coding for inpatient facilities. The role requires extensive experience in medical coding, particularly with Medicare guidelines, and involves working remotely from either Washington or Oregon. The coder will be responsible for ensuring accurate coding and compliance with relevant regulations, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the medical records department.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient coding for medical records according to ICD-10 guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare reimbursement guidelines.
• Analyze and evaluate medical records for accuracy and completeness.
• Utilize EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite for coding tasks.
• Conduct audits and provide insights on productivity and coding trends.

Requirements

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in medical coding.
• At least four (4) years of inpatient facility coding experience or four (4) years in a Kaiser Coding Auditor position.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certification from one of the following: RHIT, RHIA, or Certified Coding Specialist.

Nice-to-haves

• Degree in Health Information Management.
• Proficient knowledge of CMS HCC Risk Adjustment coding and data validation requirements.
• Experience in a health information/medical record environment.
