About the position

The Medical Coding & Compliance Specialist will ensure accurate review and coding of clinical information using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems. This role is critical in maintaining compliance with regulations and securing proper reimbursement, while collaborating with healthcare providers to resolve discrepancies and ensure coding accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to assign diagnostic and procedural codes.
• Apply ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on coding guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations and payer policies.
• Collaborate with providers to clarify diagnoses and improve documentation.
• Optimize reimbursement through accurate coding and participation in audits.
• Stay current on coding standards, regulations, and payer requirements.

Requirements

• 2+ years of medical coding experience, preferably in a healthcare or billing environment.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credential.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and HIPAA.
