About The Position

The Medical Coding Instructor at Montana State University Billings is responsible for delivering quality instruction in medical coding and insurance billing courses. This role involves teaching 18 credits per academic year, collaborating with peers to enhance curriculum, advising students, and engaging in professional development. The instructor will support the mission of the City College Nursing, Health and Safety Department and contribute to student success and program growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credentials.
• Minimum two years of work experience related to Medical Coding and Insurance Billing.

Nice To Haves

• Continuing education through the AAPC Certified Professional Biller Course with intent to complete AAPC CPB Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Continuing education through the AAPC Certified Approved Instructor Course with intent to complete AAPC Approved Instructor Certification within 1 year of hire.
• Demonstrated experience teaching with a Learning Management System (i.e. Desire2Learn, Canvas, etc).
• Experience in revenue cycle management.
• Experience teaching at the secondary or post-secondary level.
• Experience with teaching traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds.
