About the position

The Medical Customer Service Assistant at CentraCare serves as the primary contact for patient billing inquiries, assisting patients in understanding their billing statements and ensuring swift resolution of outstanding balances. This role acts as a liaison between patients, the business office, and payors for all billing matters, requiring strong conflict resolution and customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for all patient billing inquiries.
  • Assist patients in understanding billing statements.
  • Ensure swift resolution of outstanding balances.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, the business office, and payors for billing matters.

Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and related healthcare systems and software preferred.
  • Experience in a medical billing environment working with third party payers, billing, and terminology preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent listening and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal human relations skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bi-lingual in Spanish or Somali.
