About the position

The Medical Data Entry Clerk position at Robert Half involves performing accurate data entry tasks, maintaining patient records, and ensuring confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in a dynamic healthcare setting. This role is a short-term contract opportunity within the Healthcare/NHS industry, located in Bronx, New York.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately process patient documents electronically, ensuring all data is up-to-date and organized.
  • Identify patients by name and date of birth, saving each document uniformly for easy reference.
  • Utilize MS Office tools and Adobe Acrobat for routine tasks and document handling.
  • Adhere to the stringent confidentiality standards of the healthcare industry, particularly the HIPAA guidelines.
  • Provide general clerical support to streamline operations and enhance patient care.
  • Utilize specialized healthcare software such as Allscripts, AHLTA, Care Compass, and Cerner Technologies for various tasks.
  • Efficiently handle inbound calls and administer claim operations as needed.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of clinical trial operations and billing functions.
  • Handle confidential documents with utmost discretion and responsibility.
  • Ensure HIPAA Compliance - Patient Privacy Rule is strictly followed in all operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience of at least one year in a similar role, preferably within the healthcare industry.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Allscripts, and Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA).
  • Familiarity with Care Compass and Cerner Technologies.
  • Capability to manage inbound calls effectively and professionally.
  • Experience with billing functions within a healthcare setting.
  • Skills in creating charts and graphs for data visualization.
  • Knowledge and experience in claim administration.
  • Previous involvement in clinical trial operations.
  • Ability to handle confidential documents with discretion.
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality within the healthcare sector.
  • Experience in handling confidential information.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA Compliance and Patient Privacy Rule.
