About the position

The Medical Data Entry Clerk position at Robert Half involves the critical task of migrating sensitive patient records and treatment plans into a new data system. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of patient information while adhering to healthcare regulations. It is a short-term contract opportunity within the non-profit sector, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately transfer patient records, including treatment plans and care details, into our new data system.
  • Validate the precision of data input to ensure all client records are accurate and complete.
  • Adhere to healthcare regulations such as HIPAA when handling sensitive patient information to maintain confidentiality.
  • Collaborate effectively with medical staff and administration to facilitate a smooth data migration process.
  • Detect and rectify any data inconsistencies or escalate issues to the appropriate department for resolution.
  • Use software tools like Adobe Acrobat, Allscripts, Care Compass, Cerner Technologies for various tasks including answering inbound calls, managing billing functions, and handling clinical trial operations.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications.
  • Maintain precise customer credit records, monitor customer accounts, and take necessary action as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a similar role or field
  • Proficiency in using Adobe Acrobat
  • Familiarity with Allscripts software
  • Experience with Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA)
  • Proficiency in using Care Compass
  • Knowledge of Cerner Technologies
  • Ability to handle answering inbound calls professionally and effectively
  • Familiarity with billing functions, preferably in a medical setting
  • Ability to create and interpret charts and graphs
  • Experience in claim administration
  • Familiarity with clinical trial operations
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must have a high level of integrity and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
