About the position
The Medical Device Assembler position involves the production of high-quality medical devices in a clean room environment. The role requires operating machinery, following strict manufacturing instructions, and ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). The assembler will work with polymers, perform inspections using microscopes, and prepare products for packing and sterilization.
Responsibilities
- Operating machinery to produce medical devices that meet specifications.
- Following manufacturing instructions and accurately updating relevant job documentation for traceability.
- Preparing products for packing and sterilization.
- Inspecting products using a microscope.
- Ensuring all activities comply with GMPs.
- Setting up coating machines and performing coating, inspection, and folding of balloon catheters.
- Preparing excipient formulations and spray coating formulations, and testing formulations.
- Packaging sterile and non-sterile finished or semi-finished goods.
- Identifying supplies that need replenishment.
- Building components needed for top-level work orders.
- Completing cleaning activities as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in the medical device industry.
- Experience with cleanroom/gowning and de-gowning processes.
- Experience in pharmaceutical/coating for coating positions.
- Proficiency in English (medium level).
- Experience with microscope inspection.
- Willingness to work overtime.
- Comfort working with chemicals.
- Good hand/eye dexterity and detail-oriented.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel and other computer software packages.
- Ability to communicate ideas, problems, and solutions to the manufacturing supervisor and management.
