About the position

The Hybrid Medical Device Project CAD Technician role is a contract position focused on supporting engineering projects through the use of CAD software. The technician will be responsible for creating 2D and 3D designs, assisting in cost estimation, and producing documentation for assembly and maintenance. This position requires collaboration with engineers and a strong understanding of design principles and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Use computers to create 2D design - surface modelling, or 3D design Solid modeling.
• Use surface of modeling to draw a flat representation of the product.
• Create a 3D display of a structure or component, then take a ‘virtual tour' or ‘look inside' a piece of manufacturing machinery to see where improvements could be made.
• Use designs to help prepare cost estimates on projects.
• Produce assembly instructions and maintenance manuals for installation, service and repair technicians.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma required.
• 5 years experience in CAD.
• Knowledge of material properties.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods is a requirement.
• 2D design - surface modelling, or 3D design Solid modeling with strong computer skills and extensive knowledge of design software.
