About the position

The Medical Director for Intestinal Rehabilitation at Cincinnati Children's Hospital is a leadership role focused on overseeing and advancing the Intestinal Rehabilitation Program. The position requires a board-certified pediatric gastroenterologist with expertise in intestinal failure, transplantation, and rehabilitation. The director will lead multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for children with complex intestinal diseases, while also driving clinical excellence, education, and research initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the clinical leader for the Intestinal Rehabilitation Program, collaborating with various teams to provide comprehensive care.
  • Oversee the growth and strategic direction of the program, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and national standards of care.
  • Develop and implement clinical protocols and pathways to enhance patient outcomes and streamline care delivery.
  • Coordinate care across multiple specialties to ensure comprehensive treatment plans for both inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, family-centered care for children with intestinal failure.
  • Oversee transition programs for patients moving from pediatric to adult care.
  • Foster an environment of excellence in education by teaching and mentoring fellows, residents, and junior faculty.
  • Support and participate in clinical and translational research efforts to advance the field of intestinal rehabilitation.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety and improving long-term outcomes.

Requirements

  • Board-certified pediatric gastroenterologist with expertise in intestinal failure, transplantation, and rehabilitation.
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating complex patient care.
  • Strong background in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.
