About the position

The Medical Director (MD/DO) at Winters Healthcare is a visionary leadership role focused on enhancing patient care through innovative practices and community engagement. This position involves clinical leadership, direct patient care, and collaboration with various teams to ensure high-quality healthcare delivery. The ideal candidate will prioritize quality health outcomes, foster a culture of innovation, and support the growth of clinicians within a family-like environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership, operations, and clinical teams to ensure high standards of quality and continuity in services.
  • Dedicate 4-8 hours per week to providing clinical care across diverse patient demographics, including pediatric and adult primary care.
  • Work closely with organizational leaders, operations teams, and external partners to enhance collaboration across medical, behavioral health, and administrative staff.
  • Lead initiatives that align services with organizational goals, promoting team growth and satisfaction.
  • Embrace feedback and implement changes to enhance patient care and team effectiveness.
  • Support the growth and development of clinicians and care teams through mentorship and collaboration.
  • Utilize data and evidence-based practices to inform clinical decisions and drive quality improvement.
  • Build trusting relationships with patients and staff, demonstrating empathy and understanding.

Requirements

  • Current MD or DO license, with a California license required upon hire.
  • Experience in clinical leadership within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or Community Health Center (CHC).
  • Proven track record of leading teams and monitoring quality improvement outcomes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical practices and standards, particularly in community health settings.
  • A Master of Public Health (MPH) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to assess and improve quality in patient care, developing innovative work methods and procedures.
  • Passion for mentoring and supporting clinicians, with the ability to analyze data to address care gaps.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred, with at least basic Spanish terminology required.
