About the position

The position serves as the clinical lead for the Women's Health Practices of LGHP and acts as the physician liaison for the Women's Health Service Line. The role involves overseeing clinical operations, developing strategic initiatives to address women's healthcare needs, and fostering partnerships with specialty practices. Additionally, the position includes responsibilities related to continuing medical education and leadership development for managing clinicians.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the LGHP Women's Health Practices and serve as a clinician liaison to the administrative lead of the Women's Health Service line.
  • Develop and implement a strategic and programmatic approach to service the healthcare needs of women across the spectrum.
  • Communicate strategy and vision to the community, health system, medical group, and service line leadership.
  • Oversee clinical partnerships with specialty practices in the Women's Specialty Center.
  • Exhibit professionalism and serve as a role model as outlined in the LGHP Clinician Compact and Penn Medicine Be Behaviors.
  • Attend leadership meetings of the Women's Health Service Line, LGHP Executive Council, and Managing Clinicians Council.
  • Facilitate, mentor, and monitor leadership development of Managing Clinicians and direct reports; assist in developing annual goals and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Address clinician-specific issues including call schedules, behaviors, charting, coding, and quality.
  • Supervise continuing medical education initiatives and ensure compliance with accrediting bodies.
  • Engage physicians at LGH to participate in medical education and encourage patient participation.

Requirements

  • A Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) is required.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Leadership roles in a hospital's medical staff.
  • Experience in planning future strategies in health care.
  • A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs.
