Banyan Treatment Centers (BTC) is embarking on a new chapter in our mission to provide exceptional care and support for those on the path to recovery in Stuart, Florida! BTC, a leading force in addiction recovery, is recruiting a Medical Director to join our treatment team. The Medical Director is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of patient care. They also provide the development and evaluation of mid-level personnel and maintain the optimal medical aspects of the patient care unit. The Medical Director will participate in Interdisciplinary Treatment Plan meetings, evaluate the impact of therapeutic interventions upon the therapeutic milieu, and assist in formulating standards for patient policies and procedures. This role promotes good public relations between the program and the medical department and works in collaboration with the Clinical Director, Director of Nursing, and Medical Director on significant patient developments. The Medical Director will provide primary care and medical/psychiatric treatment, evaluate behavioral problems and diagnoses, and make treatment decisions in collaboration with the medical team. Additionally, the Medical Director will be responsible for ordering consults for other medical specialties as needed, providing Utilization Review with the detailed information needed for the appropriate level of care of the patient, and ensuring continuity of care through foresight in directing, controlling, planning, and organizing patient care. Communication with family and health professionals concerning the care of patients is also a key responsibility. The Medical Director will assist in reporting infection control incidents to the Performance Team and Risk Management, ensure that any client in need of urgent psychiatric care abides by state requirements, and that the client is placed in an appropriate facility for such care. Furthermore, the Medical Director will assist in ensuring that State and Federal regulations, and accreditation standards are met and maintained, while maintaining regular contact with all clinical staff and updating them on patient progress and other issues. The role requires abiding by state provisions regarding the confidentiality of alcohol and drug treatment records and all other applicable federal and state laws, demonstrating the ability to work with substance abuse clients.
