About the position

The Medical Front Desk Receptionist at Murali Pediatrics is responsible for managing front desk operations and medical records, providing customer service, and performing administrative tasks to support clinical services. This role requires effective communication with patients and staff, as well as proficiency in handling medical information and insurance verification.

Responsibilities

• Answers phones and schedules appointments as needed
• Gathers and verifies demographic and insurance information and enters data into the EHR
• Verifies insurance coverage
• Enters clinical and other information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and other systems as required
• Collects fees, co-pays, and deductibles
• Assists with completion of new intake paperwork
• Checks faxes and distributes to the proper provider or administrator
• Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude with physicians, co-workers, patients, and vendor representatives
• Performs other duties as assigned by Front Office Supervisor and/or Clinical Manager

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, Metropolitan Test, or equivalent
• 1 year experience in a Medical Office environment
• Demonstrates organizational skills for prioritizing daily work
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Demonstrates knowledge of medical and behavioral health insurance
• Basic computer skills for Windows-based applications
• Detail oriented
• Ability to multitask
• Possess knowledge specific to behavioral health and medical terminology
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and willingness to learn Microsoft Excel and other programs as needed, such as EHR
• Verbal and written communication skills appropriate for a professional environment
