About the position

The Medical Front Desk Representative is responsible for providing excellent customer service in a medical office setting, specifically in ophthalmology. This role involves greeting patients, collecting and verifying insurance information, scheduling appointments, and managing payment transactions. The representative plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth patient experience from check-in to check-out.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients upon arrival and gather necessary demographics and insurance information.
  • Collect due balances and post payments accurately.
  • Schedule appointments and manage follow-up calls to remind patients of upcoming appointments.
  • Answer multi-line phones and address patient inquiries or direct them to the appropriate party.
  • Perform clerical duties including scanning documents and verifying insurance benefits.
  • Balance daily receipts and reconcile with payment postings.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Customer service experience in a medical office setting.
  • Proficient in computer skills, particularly with NextGen software.
