About the position

The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for managing the billing and collections processes for a medical practice. This role emphasizes excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the billing process while providing exceptional customer service to patients and providers.

Responsibilities

• Input patient information into the practice's billing software.
• Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on unpaid claims.
• Resolve any issues that arise with claims or payments.
• Answer patient inquiries regarding billing and payment.
• Maintain accurate records of billing and collection activities.
• Generate monthly reports to track billing and collection performance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with medical billing software, such as EPIC or Cerner.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Able to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Knowledge of medical coding and billing terminology.
