About the position
To provide accurate, professional medical interpretation for LEP (limited English Proficiency) patients at BMC and affiliated outpatient services.
Requirements
- Two years preferred, interpreting for people with limited English proficiency, in official or unofficial capacity.
- Can include medical, legal or business translation.
- High school diploma required, some college preferred.
- Area Health Education Center Medical Interpreter Training Program course or equivalent.
- CMI or CHI certification preferred.
- Must have a telephone, reliable transportation, and ability to be flexible for on-call coverage.
- Understand role and boundaries of an interpreter.
- Strict adherence to confidentiality policy.
