Responsibilities

• Provide oral interpreting services for non-English speaking and limited English-speaking patients.
• Interpret information from Vietnamese to English and vice versa during medical appointments.
• Maintain accurate records of interpreting sessions and related documentation.
• Prioritize patient and workload to ensure timely completion of appointments and projects.
• Interact with various departments and staff to facilitate communication and patient care.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
• Fluency in English and Vietnamese.
• Knowledge of medical terminology in both English and Vietnamese.
• Ability to interpret information accurately and clearly.
• Strong organizational skills to manage workload and priorities.
• Ability to interact with diverse populations with professionalism and empathy.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification from an independent medical interpreter school or program.
• Minimum of 6 months of dedicated healthcare interpreter experience.
• Familiarity with the Health System setting.
