About the position
The Medical Laboratory Scientist II plays a crucial role in performing various laboratory procedures and analytical testing of blood and human biological specimens. This position requires a moderate to high degree of theoretical and practical knowledge in the licensed area, ensuring quality control and adherence to laboratory policies. The role emphasizes outstanding customer service and maintaining respectful relationships within the team and with patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned pre-analytical activities related to laboratory testing, including equipment maintenance and specimen collection.
- Conduct all expected tests and analytical procedures efficiently and accurately according to established standards.
- Participate in proficiency testing and adhere to federal and state regulations as well as institutional policies.
- Perform post-analytical activities, including reporting results and providing technical support for laboratory testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical, biological sciences or related field.
- Laboratory Licensure in appropriate specialty for licensure states or national certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist in non-licensure states.
