Responsibilities
- Receive and prepare specimens according to standard protocols and procedures.
- Perform laboratory tests and calculations to provide data for diagnosis and treatment.
- Conduct quality control procedures and evaluate test performance and results.
- Calibrate, maintain, and monitor equipment used in analytical determinations.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures as appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient-related information.
- Analyze and record quality control and instrument maintenance/troubleshooting.
- Adhere to regulatory compliance guidelines and maintain awareness of accreditation standards.
- Participate in performance improvement opportunities and support business development initiatives.
- Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, ensuring respect for privacy and effective communication.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical or biological science.
- Current license in the state of practice (if applicable).
- ASCP, AMT or AAB certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist.
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard for data entry and retrieval.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated good judgment in performing duties and conflict resolution.
- Good interpersonal skills.
