The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Lab Technician (MLT) position at UT Health Henderson is a full-time role focused on performing clinical laboratory testing essential for patient care and diagnosis. This position operates on a night shift and is integral to the healthcare team, contributing to quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives while ensuring accurate laboratory results.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and special laboratory procedures related to patient care and diagnosis.
• Conduct quality control and preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Handle minor equipment repairs and manage inventory control.
• Compile statistical data for laboratory operations.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement tasks.
• Assist in training new employees and conducting proficiency testing.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or an Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technician Studies or a related field.
• Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles.

Nice-to-haves

• ASCP or equivalent Certification in a specific area (e.g., M(ASCP), H(ASCP), C(ASCP)).
• Previous clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist.
