Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility and accountability for clinical laboratory testing performance.
• Perform routine and special laboratory procedures, quality control, and preventative maintenance.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement tasks.
• Train new employees and conduct proficiency testing as assigned.
• Lead a shift or co-lead the department, ensuring timely and accurate laboratory results.
• Communicate pertinent data about patients or laboratory samples to care providers.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills to troubleshoot critical laboratory results.
• Prioritize and organize workload to maintain productivity.
• Ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines in department documentation.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate Degree or Associate Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
• Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles.
• ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification required.
• Three (3) years of clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Technologist or similar role.

Nice-to-haves

• Five (5) years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
