About the position

The Medical Lab Scientist at CentraCare plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by performing clinical laboratory procedures and providing accurate test results that are essential for patient care. This position involves utilizing advanced laboratory equipment, monitoring quality, conducting research, and mentoring students, all while working a full-time schedule with night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory procedures in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunohematology, and immunology.
• Utilize state-of-the-art laboratory equipment.
• Provide accurate and timely test results.
• Monitor quality to maintain high performance standards.
• Conduct research and develop new tests and methodologies.
• Mentor students in regional colleges and universities.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree with necessary science/math credits as required and verified by the ASCP Board of Certification (BOC).
• ASCP-BOC certified within 6 months with the first exam completed within 3 months of hire, with certification verified within six weeks of the exam.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
