About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory/medical technology science from an accredited institution.
• Medical Technologist / Medical Lab Scientist certification or equivalent certification approved by Manager and Human Resources.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekends, holidays, nights, and on-call.

Nice To Haves

• SCYM ASCP certification
• Experience with laboratory information systems.
• Experience in relevant areas of the clinical laboratory.
• Demonstrated ability to use laboratory systems, databases, and spreadsheets.
• Effective communication skills using email, telephone, and in person.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of laboratory tests in departments such as Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Transfusion.
• Act as a technical expert to clinical staff and other departments.
• Ensure accurate results through quality control, proficiency testing, and calibrations.
• Conduct record reviews and instrument maintenance.
• Troubleshoot results and analyzers.
• Take on additional responsibilities such as key operator, QC review, and training new staff.
• Assist with evaluation and validation of new equipment.
• Engage in technical writing and compliance readiness (CAP, CLIA, etc.).
• Act as interim Team Lead when necessary.
