About the position

As a Medical Lab Scientist at CentraCare Health, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare team by performing clinical laboratory procedures across various disciplines. Your work will involve utilizing advanced laboratory equipment to provide accurate and timely test results, which are essential for patient care. You will also have the opportunity to mentor students and contribute to research and development of new tests and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory procedures in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunohematology, immunology, and other areas of the clinical laboratory.
• Utilize state-of-the-art equipment to conduct tests.
• Provide accurate and timely test results to healthcare professionals.
• Monitor quality to maintain high performance standards in the laboratory.
• Conduct research and develop new tests and methodologies.
• Mentor students in regional colleges and universities.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree with necessary science/math credits as required and verified by the ASCP Board of Certification (BOC).
• ASCP-BOC certified within 6 months with the first exam completed within 3 months of hire, with certification verified within six weeks of the exam.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• New graduate's degree must be validated within 2 months post-graduation.

Benefits

• Starting pay begins at $28.76 per hour and increases with experience.
• Pay range: $28.76-43.14 per hour.
