About the position

The Staff Pad is looking for a dedicated Medical Lab Technician to join a laboratory team in Las Vegas, New Mexico. This role involves performing daily laboratory operations, ensuring quality control, maintaining equipment, and managing inventory. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in laboratory science, particularly in a hospital setting, including experience in Bloodbanking.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all operations.
• Review and maintain quality control records to ensure compliance with established standards and protocols.
• Conduct and document preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
• Monitor and manage inventory of laboratory supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory tests, procedures, and results.
• Adhere to all regulatory and safety standards, ensuring a safe and compliant laboratory environment.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely test results for patient care.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Laboratory Science or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of one year experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician in a hospital laboratory setting, including experience in a Bloodbanking area.
• Certification by ASCP, AMT, or equivalent required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtained during the first week of employment.
