About the position
The Valley Health System has expanded into an integrated health network that serves more than two million people in Southern Nevada. Starting with Valley Hospital Medical Center in 1979, the Valley Health System has grown to include Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center, Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center, Summerlin Hospital Medical Center, Henderson Hospital, and Valley Health Specialty Hospital, the newest facility, West Henderson Hospital. This position is responsible for the analysis of laboratory specimens and subsequent result reporting according to laboratory protocol and procedures. This position acts as a resource for Medical Laboratory Technicians and Lab Assistants and supports and assists the Lead Medical Technologist.
Responsibilities
- Analyze laboratory specimens and report results according to laboratory protocol and procedures.
- Act as a resource for Medical Laboratory Technicians and Lab Assistants.
- Support and assist the Lead Medical Technologist.
Requirements
- BSMT(ASCP) or equivalent as defined by CLIA'88.
- Three (3) years of experience as a Medical Technologist is preferred.
- General bench tech skills required to provide coverage in all modalities.
- Nevada State Licensure as Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
- ASCP or equivalent board registration/education required to satisfy Nevada License requirements must be maintained.
- New CLS graduates must receive certification within 6 months of hire.
- New graduates or applicants that do not currently have a NV license must obtain a NV state provisional license prior to hire and must obtain a permanent license upon expiration of the provisional license.
