About the position

This position involves receiving and preparing specimens according to established protocols, performing laboratory tests, and providing data for diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The role requires quality control procedures, equipment calibration, and maintaining patient confidentiality. The successful candidate will work independently to perform routine and specialized laboratory testing, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and participating in performance improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and prepare specimens according to standard protocols and procedures.
  • Perform laboratory tests and calculations to provide data for diagnosis and treatment of disease.
  • Conduct quality control procedures and evaluate test performance and results.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and monitor equipment used in analytical determinations.
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures as appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient-related information.
  • Perform, analyze, and record quality control and instrument maintenance/troubleshooting.
  • Adhere to regulatory compliance guidelines and maintain awareness of accreditation standards.
  • Follow safety guidelines and OIG compliance requirements.
  • Participate in performance improvement opportunities and support business development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Current license or temporary license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist or Specialist in the state of practice.
  • Meet CLIA and CAP requirements for testing personnel relative to scope of duties.
  • ASCP certification as a Medical Technologist.
