About the position
The Medical Laboratory Scientist I position at AdventHealth Gordon involves performing various laboratory procedures on blood and human biological specimens. This role requires a moderate to high degree of theoretical and practical knowledge in laboratory testing, ensuring quality control, and maintaining laboratory policies and procedures. The position is PRN, meaning there is no set schedule, and the candidate will work on various days and hours as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned pre-analytical activities related to laboratory testing, including equipment maintenance and specimen collection.
- Conduct all expected tests and analytical procedures efficiently and accurately according to established procedures.
- Participate in proficiency testing and adhere to federal and state regulations as well as institutional policies.
- Perform post-analytical activities related to laboratory testing, including reporting results and providing technical support.
- Provide orientation and training to new employees and medical technology students as needed.
Requirements
- Valid Medical Technologist certification (ASCP, AAB, or AMT preferred).
- Ability to perform analytical testing of blood and human biological specimens.
- Knowledge of laboratory policies and procedures, quality control practices, and federal/state regulations.

- Experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
