Texas Oncology is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join their team in Wichita Falls, TX. This role involves performing specimen analysis, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring quality control in a community oncology setting. The position may vary in level based on the candidate's experience, and it plays a crucial role in supporting cancer care by delivering accurate laboratory results.

Responsibilities

  • Perform specimen analysis for Chemistry, Hematology, and Immunology specimens.
  • Assist with phlebotomy and specimen collection from patients.
  • Maintain and operate laboratory equipment, performing regular maintenance as needed.
  • Adhere to quality control policies and document all QC activities.
  • Participate in proficiency testing and prepare peripheral blood smears.
  • Process specimens for send-out testing and maintain proper documentation.
  • Train employees in laboratory procedures and act as a resource for laboratory science information.
  • Oversee daily laboratory activities in the absence of a supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related healthcare field.
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist Certification.
  • Medical Technology ASCP Certification.
  • For Level 2: Minimum of three years of experience required.
  • For Senior Level: Minimum of five years of experience required.

Nice-to-haves
