About the position
The position involves providing accurate and timely patient test results essential for diagnosing and managing human illnesses. The role requires the use of both automated and manual methods, ensuring quality control and proper operation of laboratory instruments. The position also entails handling various biological specimens, which may be contaminated with infectious diseases.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and timely patient test results for diagnosis and management of illnesses.
- Utilize automation and computerization, as well as manual methods, in laboratory testing.
- Ensure quality control and proper maintenance of laboratory instruments.
- Troubleshoot instrument issues as they arise.
- Handle various biological specimens, including blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, and spinal fluid.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Required).
- Registered by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
- AMT Certification is considered equivalent to ASCP.
- Experience in an automated clinical laboratory.
- Superior customer service skills.
