The Medical Laboratory Technician at HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland plays a crucial role in providing quality laboratory services that support patient care. Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory tests and analyses on patient specimens.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in the laboratory.
- Document and report test results accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide quality patient care.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Medical Technology or equivalent from an accredited institution preferred.
- Preferably one to two years of clinical experience, but consideration may be given to a new graduate.
- Documentation of training appropriate for the testing performed prior to analyzing patient specimens.
- Knowledge of PCs and Laboratory Information Systems.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to operate mechanical, electrical, and computer-controlled instrumentation.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
- Familiarity with quality control and assurance processes in a laboratory setting.
