About the position
The Medical Laboratory Technician position involves performing laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role is critical in providing accurate and timely results to support medical decisions, particularly in specialties such as Cardiology, Hematology, and Ob/Gyn. The position is contract-based, requiring work primarily on weekends with a focus on day shifts.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in the laboratory.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Document and report test results in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss test results and implications.
Requirements
- Valid Medical Technologist certification (preferred).
- 1 year of experience as a Medical Lab Technician (preferred).
- TN State License (preferred).
- BLS Certification (preferred).
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
