Responsibilities

• Retrieve all records from clients to analyze and itemize types of records, identify timelines of events, and ensure completeness of records given residency periods for facility charts.
• Assist the attorney in responding to discovery demands.
• Prepare, submit, and follow up on HIPAA compliant authorizations and record requests.
• Thoroughly review and summarize complex medical records, identifying key medical issues and creating chronologies of treatment.
• Identify and retain potential medical expert witnesses, scheduling consultations, IMEs, and preparing them for depositions and trial.
• Assist with motions, exhibit preparation, deposition preparation, and trial preparation.
• Review transcripts to identify any potential facilities or treating physicians to subpoena.

Requirements

• Must have a bachelor's degree; Paralegal Certificate is a plus.
• 2+ years of litigation experience.
• Medical malpractice defense experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to integrate into a fast-paced environment.
