About the position

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide administrative support to patients, fellow employees, and referral sources through the coordination and administration of the front office activities. The ideal candidate will have a background in healthcare administration with strong computer proficiency and customer service skills. You will be responsible for managing patient appointment scheduling, obtaining insurance authorization, creating new patient charts, and maintaining patient records. Additionally, you will be tasked with scanning and filing patient documents to ensure complete and accurate information, managing incoming phone calls, providing financial counseling for patients, and posting over-the-counter (OTC) payments. Daily document research on an electronic health/medical record system will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to patients and staff through front office coordination.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar.
  • Obtain insurance authorization for patient services.
  • Create and maintain new patient charts and records.
  • Scan and file patient documents accurately.
  • Manage incoming phone calls and respond to inquiries.
  • Provide financial counseling to patients regarding their accounts.
  • Post over-the-counter (OTC) payments and manage financial transactions.
  • Conduct daily document research on an electronic health/medical record system.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Less than 1 year of customer service, administration, or related experience required.
  • Healthcare administration experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance processes strongly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in EMR systems.
