As a Medical Office Administrator at Hanger, Inc., you will play a crucial role in providing the highest level of customer service to patients, fellow employees, and referral sources. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate and administer the front office activities, ensuring that all patient information, insurance details, and pre-authorization information are accurately obtained and compliant with relevant laws and company policies. You will maintain excellent customer service relationships with patients and referral sources, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and care. In this position, you will be responsible for obtaining accurate insurance information, including eligibility and benefits verification, and advising patients of their financial responsibilities once benefits have been confirmed. You will also handle co-payments and cash receipts, ensuring compliance with Hanger's guidelines. Maintaining accurate and complete patient files is essential, as is ensuring the privacy and security of protected health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Your role will also involve assisting with patient follow-up, quality assurance, and compliance with internal controls for cash handling. You will efficiently manage multiple phone lines, document patient interactions clearly and accurately, and coordinate scheduling for practitioners to ensure proper coverage of patient appointments. Additionally, you will process referrals, authorizations, and prescriptions, ensuring timely and complete information is received. Other duties or special projects may be assigned as needed.
